''Melaleuca halophila'' is a plant in the myrtle family, Myrtaceae and is endemic to the south of Western Australia. It is a prickly shrub, similar to ''Melaleuca thapsina'' but its flowers are white and the leaves are shorter and hairier. ==Description== ''Melaleuca halophila'' is a shrub growing to tall. Its leaves are arranged alternately, linear to very narrow elliptic, roughly oval in cross-section, long, wide with a short, prickly point on the end. The leaves are covered with short, soft hairs. The flowers are white and arranged in heads on the ends of branches which continue to grow after flowering and in the upper leaf axils. The heads are up to in diameter and composed of 5 to 11 groups of flowers in threes. The petals are long and fall off as the flower ages. There are five bundles of stamens around the flower, each with 3 to 7 stamens. Flowering occurs in October and November and is followed by fruits which are woody capsules long.〔〔
